e slinky. That silver, metal spring toy that used to flip-flop down your stairs and provide hours of endless entertainment. Reflect on your childhood days when a simply toy like a slinky could mean a world of playtime possibilities. That's right, you remember now. When I was packing my things for my move back to New Jersey, I found a box in our shed that said "Kelly's stuff." Interested, I rummaged through this old box and found a slinky from my childhood. It was lightweight, plastic and multiple shades of pink. This was not the original slinky- but it instantly brought back memories. I remembered the first slinky I owned. It was the heavy metal sort, that was shiny and silver and could bounce down all 20 steps of our old home in Elizabeth, New Jersey. I could hear that old Slinky advertising jingle playing in my head as I held this plastic toy in my hands and shifted its weight from one hand to another.
I'm sure your wondering what the point of all this is ... Don't worry, I'm getting there.
I have grown up quite a bit from my years of playing with a slinky. I have been different places, met many people, experienced an incredible amount of change, lived through good times and bad times, graduated college, learned a thing or two about what life is all about and I have so much more to experience. To say the least, my life so far has been a journey. I never know what tomorrow will bring - and that is the purpose of this blog: to document what tomorrow brings.
Here is where the slinky comes in. I went out and purchased an old school metal slinky, which I will carry around with me at all times. If I meet someone new and awesome, discover something interesting, find something crazy, or am somehow compelled to write about a topic: my slinky will be there. For each blog post, I will incorporate a picture of whatever it is I am discussing - and my slinky will be in the picture.
The point is to share my experiences with the world and to express my creativity all in the same shot. The slinky will be my tool for relating my adventures to my life. I am really exited about starting this blog, and I hope you all are exited to follow along! I don't want this to be like every other blog on the web. I want this to be different, interesting, funny and creative. So, follow along people! Tomorrow is a new day.
